GM Diesel Timeline:

1978	GM launches 5.7L Olds diesel.
1982	GM introduces 6.2L IDI.
1985	5.7L Oldsmobile discontinued.
1992	GM introduces 6.5L diesel, 6.2L still available.
1993	6.5L diesel replaces 6.2L.
1994	6.5L receives electronic injection pump controls.
1996	6.5L receives high output water pump & redesigned cooling system to prevent overheating problems. Coolant flow is increased 75% through the engine block and 7% through the radiator.
2001	6.6L Duramax is introduced, replaces 6.5L.
